The Fearrington Democratic Club began in July 1990 to provide a forum for the discussion of political and economic issues and to promote participation by Fearrington residents in public affairs. The club is not officially affiliated with the Democratic Party but subscribes to Democratic Party principles and supports Democratic candidates.
We have seven regular monthly meetings with speakers from September through April. We offer refreshments and time for conversation before the meetings. All Fearrington and Galloway Ridge residents are invited to attend. The club’s picnic in May presents an opportunity to meet informally with elected officials, candidates, and Democratic Party officers. We also offer occasional special programs and informal reading groups.
Our mission is to provide current information on and analysis of a range of national, state, and local topics, as well as opportunities to hear from candidates during primary and general election times. Speakers are chosen from among elected officials, civic leaders, and experts at local universities. In addition, through our website you can find up-to-date information on election-related activities and ways to volunteer on election campaigns and on critical public policy issues.
Just as important is that you get to enjoy the company of others who share your views (which could also lead to spirited discussions, if you know Democrats!). We hope Fearrington and Galloway residents will join the over 300 neighbors who are members.
